ABOUT US
Rome Church of Christ believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God and is the Cornerstone of the church. We believe in the Plan of Salvation: Hearing, Believing, Repentance, Confession, Baptism and Remaining Faithful.
Who we are:
We are ordinary people, but we live for
an extraordinary God. You won’t find
noses in the air here (Gal. 6:14–16). We
are a diverse family, composed of
people from various backgrounds, all
striving to walk with Jesus (Rev. 5:9-10).
Often that means we are supporting
each other, at times that means we are
seeking support (Rom. 12:15), but it
never means shame for needing help.
We believe God gave the world Jesus
because we all need saved from sin and
brokenness. That means we are all
equal at the foot of His cross (2 Cor.
5:19). If you need some help, you will
find it here.
The Church:
is designed by God, but made by us. So, we have one simple goal that affects everything we do here at Rome - be the church that God designed (Eph. 3:10). That means we don’t come to church on Sunday, per se, rather, we live as the church every day of the week. Rather than fitting church into our lives, our lives are transformed by God’s Spirit because we are the church. This was always God’s intention (1 Pet. 2:4–5; Eph. 2:20–22; Matt. 6:10).

Service Hours
When You Visit:
When you visit:So, when you visit with us, here is what we hope you’ll find:
-
Firstly, a family of faith living in unity to glorify God (Rom. 12:4–5).
-
Since faith comes by hearing God’s word (Rom. 10:17), you will find that we only preach and teach God’s word.
-
In fact, this is why we have non-denominational affiliation. We believeGod’s word alone is sufficient in powerand instruction to make Christians(Rom. 1:16).
-
So, you won’t find creeds, catechisms, or conventions here. We combine, teach, and follow the precepts of theNew Testament to the best of ourability (2 Tim. 3:16–17). This includes belief (Acts 10:43), repentance (Acts17:30-31), confession (Rom. 10:10),baptism (Acts 2:38, 22:16; 1 Pet. 3:21),and living faithfully (Rev. 2:10), etc.
-
We also worship in a N.T. way. This wasnever designed to be entertaining forus, but to be pleasing to God (Acts 2:42,20:7; Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16).
-
This is also why we call ourselves the“church of Christ” (Rom 16:16). It is not really a name, but a description.
-
Most of all, we hope that when youvisit, you will find followers of Jesuswho desire to obey God and love ourneighbours (John 13:34-35), and thatmeans you.
